The House System
Our House System is the primary structure for pastoral care at Wetherby Pembridge. Upon joining our school, each student is assigned to a House, led by a Housemaster, who is a staff member with significant pastoral experience and specialist training. Students stay in their Houses while at Wetherby Pembridge, meaning Housemasters get to know them well as individuals and tailor support for optimal outcomes.
Each student is allocated a Personal Tutor from the House Tutor Team, with whom they meet regularly each school week. When possible, students retain Tutors between phases, so the latter may get to know each student in depth.
Between them, the Housemaster and Tutor have a comprehensive overview of each pupil’s needs and progress, and they are the primary point of contact for parents and guardians. Pastoral care is a partnership between school and family; communication between Housemasters, Tutors, students and parents is thus open, frequent and constructive.
