The Benefits of Our Leading Sixth Form Programme

We provide a rich and vibrant Sixth Form programme ensuring students achieve in both formal assessments and in their wider holistic development, helping students progress to the world's top universities.  

Our dedicated teaching staff support every pupil as they choose between 3 and 4 A-Level courses and establish a unique learning pathway that aligns with their specific strengths, objectives and future ambitions. Harnessing the most recent technologies in modern, cutting-edge learning facilities, our students enjoy leading their own learning, developing vital personal learning character and cultivating their full potential in the unique setting that is Wetherby Pembridge. 

In addition to their A Levels, Sixth Form students can take the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This is an excellent opportunity to extend studies further and demonstrate a greater level of academic independence – a qualification that is highly regarded by universities.

Sixth Form Options Programme

The A-Level syllabus is complemented by the Sixth Form Options Programme, which allows students to pursue academic and cultural interests or develop new skills, such as an additional language, beyond their A-Level studies. The Options Programme also includes compulsory wellbeing and careers education modules.

An Exceptional Enrichment Programme

Enrichment continues to be integral to the lives of Sixth Form students, nurturing in-demand skills and outstanding abilities in sports, music, drama and other areas.

Involvement in sports is compulsory across year groups, although Sixth Form brings with it more choice and independence. Students may choose to pursue numerous sports recreationally or focus on honing their skills in specific disciplines. Opportunities continue to abound in the creative and performing arts too, including leadership roles such as backstage management and leading an ensemble.

The Options Programme will replace Activities in the Sixth Form. Over their first four terms, students select from a wide variety of enriching opportunities, including academic, sport, creative and skills-based options, and compulsory wellbeing and career activities.

University Guidance: A Path to Unlimited Opportunities

Every Sixth Form student receives tailored, structured preparation for university that supports them in choosing and applying for the best courses and institutions for their goals. This puts them in the best possible position to enrol in the world’s most prestigious universities. 

Throughout the application process, students have one-on-one meetings with their designated Sixth Form Tutor, supported by a specialist Universities Team. A professional US Guidance Counsellor and SAT and ACT prep classes prepare students to successfully apply to US universities, and a specialist-run Oxbridge and Ivy League course is available for students interested in those institutions. Students also benefit from targeted enrichment opportunities, a two-day University Preparation Course and access to the UniFrog platform, among other things. 

The Careers Department offers a structured programme through the Sixth Form Options Programme and continues to support students with lectures, talks, drop-in clinics and working lunches.
